Notice of service outage

On the morning of Wednesday 24th July between 8:00 and 9:30am, IT Services will be carrying out essential maintenance to replace a critical piece of network hardware. This will require downtime to the eduroam Wi-Fi and wired network and most key services.

How does this affect me?

Between 8:00 and 9:30am, users on both the Loughborough and London campuses will experience a loss of network connectivity and access to most University online services, including VPN connectivity for users off-campus.

Services will be available from 9:30am, however, they should be considered at risk until 11:30am.

The timing of the work has been planned to ensure that we have the support of our external maintenance suppliers and that it is the best fit for the University.

To prevent equipment failure and prolonged unplanned outages, it is important to perform this essential maintenance.

Where can I get more information?

Service status updates are available on the IT Service Availability page, with guidance on other ways to connect during a network outage: https://www.lboro.ac.uk/it/service-availability.
