Welcome to our menopause resources, created and curated to support colleagues across the university. Led by the Maia staff network (Loughborough University's Women's Network) and working with fantastic colleagues across campus, particularly our experts Dr. Emma O’Donnell and Professor Eef Hogervorst. These materials are here to help raise awareness and understanding of peri‑menopause, menopause, and post‑menopause to foster a more inclusive, informed community.

These resources include:

  • Clear explainers on peri‑menopause, menopause, and post‑menopause, including common symptoms and their impact at work.
  • Practical guidance for starting supportive conversations with your line manager, including reasonable adjustments, signposting to support and the University policy.
  • Resources for managers and teams to better understand peri‑menopause, menopause, and post‑menopause.
  • And more!

We encourage you to explore the resources, share them with your teams, and use them to shape compassionate, evidence‑informed practice.

Maia unites women staff and Doctoral Researchers, *including trans women and non-binary people comfortable in a female-centred community, across Schools, Professional Services and Loughborough Students' Union. Gender equality is a human right, not a female fight, and so Maia welcomes engagement from all colleagues, regardless of gender. Maia is for everyone – if you only want to join to keep informed as you’re time-short, not a problem; if you fancy attending an event, great – Maia is there for you in whatever capacity.

If you’d like to connect with others, learn more, keep informed about advocacy work, please consider joining Maia. Don’t forget to watch-out for our Menopause related events.

Thank you for helping us build a workplace where every stage of life is understood and supported.
